David Joseph is affiliated with the Costume Society of America and The Textile Museum in Washington, DC. In the course of his research, he has collaborated with the Smithsonian Institution, Kensington Palace in the UK, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Joslyn Art Museum, The Textile Collection in Historic Williamsburg, and The Art Institute in Washington, DC. His list of celebrity clientele includes the likes of Priscilla Presley and Bernadette Peters.
David Joseph has been in love with textile arts and fashion design since he began collecting, conserving, and selling historic textiles in 2005. He received his formal training in design at Creighton University, where he worked in the costume shop at the Lied Education Center for the Arts. His mentor there was the accomplished costume designer, Lindsay Pape. While David Joseph hails from the Northeastern United States, his designs have sold to clients in 28 countries across the globe. True to his roots in collecting historic pieces, his custom creations are often inspired by historic and vintage designs.
